Day 46

Today, I'm gathering up all of the Valentine's decorations and putting them away - and tomorrow, out comes St. Patty's Day!  I had three Precious Moments displayed for Valentine's Day, and I showed one way back on January 14...the little girl with the plate full of heart cookies.

Before I put them all away for the season, I thought I would show this other sweet little girl.  She's called Our Friendship Is In The Bag.  She has a heart shaped purse, and a little dangling heart charm on her bracelet.  And her little pig tails are just too cute!

I took the original boring photo and experimented a bit with my Pixlr Express app, giving it some life in the way of a distressed or shabby look.  What do ya think?

Day 14

Today's Photo Challenge prompt is In Low Light.  I decided to take a picture of one of my Valentine decorations I put out yesterday...which is on top of the TV, in the armoire.  Not a lot of light going on in there.  I did run the photo through Instagram though, so she has a soft, almost nostalgic glow.

This little Precious Moments is one of three I put out, all adorned with a heart in some way.  She is a Collector's Club figurine from many years ago - in fact I think she was my very first member figurine - and she's called You're The Sweetest Cookie In The Batch.  I think she came with a heart shaped cookie cuter.  It's a sweet little token of a time quite some time ago.

Day 6

Today is the 12th day of Christmas...and the Feast of Epiphany.  We celebrate the day the Magi arrived in Bethlehem to visit Baby Jesus, and bring him gifts, and pay him homage.

This afternoon I walked past our cute little Nativity and noticed Rob had moved the shepherds out of the way, and moved the three wise men into place, in honor of Epiphany.

Day 305

It's the last day of October, and so here's a photo of my Precious Moments calendar...again.

Now, a normal person would have taken some kind of Halloween photo, wouldn't you think.  Not that I haven't taken enough of those all month, but maybe I could have shot a cute little trick-or-treater that came to my door?  Or just the neighborhood full of kids traveling about door to door.  Nope...not me.  Strange, awkward me...I give you the calendar.

This month it's that classic figurine of the little girl with the goose...Make a Joyful Noise.  Goodbye October, on to November.

Day 276

I'm a couple days late again, but say goodbye to September...and on to October!

The plate for this month's Precious Moments calendar is a little boy and girl on a tree stump, called Love One Another.  I have to admit, I'm not entirely sure why they were chosen to represent September, but loving one another is never a bad thing and always good to remember, right?

Day 260

It's my birthday today.  So I guess...Happy Birthday to Me!

Mom, Rob and Billie all asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday...how I wanted to celebrate.  I feel like such a dud, but in all honesty there was really nothing in particular I wanted to do.  I mean it's Sunday for crying out loud...it just feels like another day.  I didn't really want to go anywhere, or do anything special...just be with a few family and friends.  But, even though I didn't go anywhere or do anything special...everyone else made it special for me!  I truly am blessed.

First thing this morning when we woke up, Rob gave me his gifts.  I thought we had decided my new iPhone was my birthday gift, but he must have forgotten that!  He gave me a new Precious Moments...Count Each Birthday with a Joyful Smile...a sweet birthday girl with a cute little party hat and cake.  He also gave me a romantic little book called A Love That Lasts - Inspiring Insights From Couples Married 50 Years and Beyond.  I can't wait to thumb through it.  And lastly he gave me a practical, but much needed gift...a new flat iron for my hair!  I'm not sure who was more excited for my gifts...me or the girls.  Baylee is totally interested in anything called a present...and Lucy really enjoyed tearing the wrapping paper to shreds...silly girls! Rob and I spent the  rest of the morning just doing some of our normal Sunday stuff.  In the early afternoon Mom told us that Uncle Larry and Aunt Sue had swung in for a quick visit.  So Rob and I quickly got ready and headed over to Mom's to give them just a quick hello, and have a very short chat before they needed to get on the road again.

It wasn't long after the Hansens left that my birthday party guests arrived for a delicious dinner of chicken enchiladas and mud pie for dessert!  Billie, Keith, Brittany, Melanie and Ryanne all came over to Mom's to help me celebrate my special day. And they didn't come empty handed...they all spoiled me way too much!!  Billie and Keith gave me a Starbucks gift card, a Halloween and a thanksgiving set of cupcake liners and picks and a fun little Birthday Girl gift set from Philosophy.  Melanie and Ryanne gave me a couple cute little pumpkin Halloween decorations, and a gift card to Hobby Lobby...yay!

Baylee and Lucy even got in on the action.  I guess they did a little puppy shopping of their own!  They got me a wedding paper pack, and a tote to carry my Cricut cartridges.  I think I'm set for two of my favorite things for awhile...cupcakes and scrapbooking!

And thanks Mom!! In addition to the clothes she bought me in our 'Back to School' shopping excursion on Friday, she also gave me two more long sleeve tees...WOW...she just doesn't stop!!

All in all, it was a day that started out sweetly and finished with a bang...a girl couldn't ask for anything more!  Thank you everyone for making me feel so special!

Day 246

I'm a couple days late, but here is a shot of my August calendar.  I'm always talking up my Precious Moments and how each one has meaning, and how I think they are so cute, etc.  Well...I have to admit, this is one of my least favorites.  I don't mind the message...We are God's Workmanship...this is true.  It's just that August is one of those months without a holiday or any real event.  So, it's just a cute little girl with butterflies...kind of plain and simple.

Now it's time to press on to September...with back to school, Labor Day, Patriot Day and the first day of Autumn...it should be chocked full of goodness!

Day 207

July is drawing to a close...and yep, you guessed it, I don't have anything to photograph today.  So here it is, my July Precious Moments calendar.

This month's plate happens to be one of my favorite's.  It is a picture of a patriotic drummer boy, and says, 'Marching To The Beat Of Freedom's Drum'. Again, I just love all the red, white and blue and 4th of July decor; I hate to see this last bit of it go away. But it'll be back out again next year for sure!

Day 199

To Have And To Hold Forevermore...

On Saturday, I shared that I put away all of the 4th of July decor, which made a little room for a few new, fresh additions...like this one.

Tonight I thought I'd share this little Precious Moments that is actually the cake topper Mom bought me (us) for my bridal shower.  There are so many Precious Moments bride and groom figurines out there to choose from, but this one is perfect...To Have And To Hold Forevermore.  I love it so much, and will treasure it always!

Because it's new, and because Rob and I are still 'just married', I thought it needed a little time on display before joining all of the others inside the curio cabinet.

Day 180

Here it is...my little calendar for June.

I have sort of gotten off my schedule of posting my calendar on the last day of every month.  In fact, I didn't even change the calendar for the month of May...it just came and went too fast I guess, so there isn't one at all for last month.  I guess I'll have to remember that for my next year's 365 Project?!?

And I know today isn't even the last day of June, but...not much to photograph today, so here it is.

Day 164

Let Freedom Ring

A few days ago, I posted one of two Precious Moments I currently have on display...the little guy with a watermelon slice.  Well, here is the second one...in celebration of the upcoming 4th of July, it a little 'Uncle Sam' with a phone...Let Freedom Ring.

I have so many Precious Moments that I love, but this little guy is special; not only is he a sweet and cute boy, but he's patriotic, and who doesn't love that?

Day 157

It's one of those days again.  It's late.  I've taken no pictures.  I'm on my way to bed and searching. So, here's another Precious Moments...Water-Meloncholy Day Without You

When I decorated the house for the Fourth of July, I brought out two other Precious Moments to display, and here is the first.  I have always loved this little boy, eating his watermelon.

Not only is he cute, but the watermelon totally says summer to me...and I am ready for summer, no doubt!

Day 127

So, I realize I'm a few days late.  But in my defense, I really had something better to post on April 30!

I just couldn't let the month of April go by without posting my calendar though...I'm on a roll with each month.  And since I haven't got around to changing it to May just yet, and because I have nothing better to post today...voila...my little April calendar, strictly for your enjoyment! Ha ha!

Day 123

Life Is Sweeter With You

A few days ago, when I was at a loss for a photo to post, I photographed one of the two Precious Moments I put out for Spring. Well, today I'm drawing a blank for photo ideas again, so I thought I'd take a pic of the second figurine I have out. Obviously, it's called Life is Sweeter With You...

When I got this, I thought the sentiment was sweet, and I loved the lemons and lemonade theme of it. But now it takes on a whole new meaning, because I was a girl who had almost given up on having a boy to make life sweeter with, but I'm so glad that I didn't, because now I do!

Day 111

I was lacking inspiration today. I'll admit it. So I looked around the house hoping to find a little something to inspire me.

I looked at my curio cabinet full of Precious Moments. I had just put away the two figurines I typically put out in celebration of Easter, and thought that maybe I could bring out a couple Spring(ish) ones that are fitting for this time of year - with no particular holiday in mind. I found this one, and thought it was perfect, with having just mowed for the first time a couple weeks ago, and needing to get on it again this weekend.

But, it's the name of the figurine that is even more meaningful than it's shape...It May Be Greener, But It's Just As Hard To Cut. Isn't that the truth...the grass may be greener, but it never ends up being they way you thought, or hoped, or even the way you viewed it from the other side.

Just a little something to remember when peeking over your fence...

Day 91

Well, today was a very good day. A quick trip up and back to Spokane.

Rob and I went with Billie and Keith up to Spokane to have lunch and a quick visit with Jenn, and because neither Rob or Keith had ever been there. We stopped at the casino for lunch with Jenn, then headed out to Post Falls to the Cabela's. On our way back into town we stopped at The Nut Factory, which was kind of interesting...and chalked full of sweet treats. We made one last stop, and then headed home.

With all those activities...a day spent with friends, visiting a casino, stores and factories - do you think I took even one picture? And I SWORE I was going to. Nothing. I really can't even say I forgot - nothing seemed like a Kodak moment I guess...although I know later I will regret thinking that way.

However, here we are at the close of month...so not to worry, I do have a photo. The March calendar!!

I've officially made it three months...woo hoo...100 days, here we I come!

Day 60

There it is...another month down! Yay me!

I honestly can't believe it. Even though February is short by two or three days, it's the grand total that counts, right? I've made it 60 days...both taking a photo a day, and blogging about each one. I'm not sure I've ever done anything consistently for 60 days!

I had hoped to have something special to photograph in honor of Leap Day, but came up short. So instead, here's a shot of my little Precious Moments wall calendar again, but for February this time. I think this may now be the photo for the last day of every month.

Day 31

Woo-hoo! The calendar says it's January 31st! Day 31!

I made it through an entire month, snapping at least one picture each day. Not only did I surpass last year's effort somewhere around Day 22, but I actually completed a whole month of photo taking AND blogging. I admit it, I'm a little impressed with myself right now.

I think they say it takes something like 21 days to develop a habit. Although some days have been a bit of struggle, and sometimes I have even cheated a bit by snapping a picture the morning after...I'm taking it in stride. The bottom line is that I managed to make this a thought each and every day, and hopefully it will only get easier and more habitual, and eventually I will struggle with WHICH picture to post, rather than WHAT to photograph!

Bring on February!
