Here are a few birthday cards I've made over the last couple months. I have been so delinquent in my posting recently, however, they never reached my blog...until now.

Happy Birthday to...ME!
Once again, I am humbled. Yesterday I had another great birthday, spoiled by co-workers, celebrated by friends, and loved by family. What more could a girl ask for?? Thanks again to all of you who helped me celebrate, and made me feel special on my birthday.

On the Mend...
It seems I have been away from my crafting and blogging for the better part of the summer...but it feels good to be back. As most of you know, I became ill in mid-August and needed somewhat emergency surgery. After 5 days in the hospital, followed by two weeks staying with my mom and dad (receiving lots of TLC), I was able to re-join the world. I have been steadily regaining strength, and feeling like myself again. This is due in part to so many wonderful co-workers, friends and family sending well wishes, cards, flowers and plants. I am so grateful to know such fabulous people. Thanks to all of you.

Happy Birthday Billie
Thursday was Billie's birthday. Mom made dinner for her, and mud pie for dessert. This is the first card I made for her.
Then last night, Kim, Jodi, Billie and I went out to the Roxy Wine Bar to celebrate. Even though we gave her cards and gifts on her birthday, I wanted to have a little something to give her last night, so I altered this clothespin, and made her a this Hello Kitty card - which she had requested.
I think Billie's birthday week might officially be over now...Happy Birthday Billie - hope you enjoyed your days!

Happy Anniversary
July 6 was my mom and dad's 35th Wedding Anniversary. I thought that marked a pretty special day, but they seemed to just take it in stride.
This is the card I made for them (sorry it's kind of dark a bit blurred!), using my new Cuttlebug 'With Love' border emobssing set. Inside was a gift card for dinner to one of their favorite places - Bonefish Grill. Happy Anniversay Mom and Dad...here's to many more years to come!

4th of July
The last week or so just got away from me. So here I am trying to play catch-up with my posting. Seems like there has been so much going on - car shows, celebrations, parades, bbq's, and camping - I don't know where to start, so I guess I'll start with the 4th.
Jay, Kathy, Fred, Christy and Ms. Kennedy were all in town for the weekend. We started off a very hot day with a trip to the Farmer's Market, followed by Pasco's Grand Ol' Fourth parade. Here's our sweetie pie enjoying her first 4th of July parade.
After a bit of a break - and some time inside with air conditioning - we all headed over to Sharlyn's for what has become our annual 4th of July BBQ. I was directed to bring the cupcakes for the event. I wanted to try out a festive recipe from my Crazy About Cupcakes cookbook, so I made Blueberry / Raspberry Cupcakes, with fresh blueberries and raspberries baked inside and cream cheese frosting. I wasn't sure how they were going to taste, but they turned out to be pretty darned good! I decorated them up with red and blue sprinkles and flags for the occasion.
That was not the end, however, of my baking. Billie requested chocolate cupcakes as well. When asked if she wanted chocolate cake or chocolate frosting - she said BOTH. So, I made another 2 dozen Triple Chocolate Fudge cupcakes with choclate-cream cheese frosting. I thought they were delicious too - even from a non-chocolate lover like myself.
And finally, I had been working on a 4th of July project for over a week or so. I was inspired by a project from Leigh Ann Baird that she entered as a guest on Papertrey Ink's site. I loved the idea, so started out making a template, adding my own twist. I made a dozen, essentially one for each of the gals at the BBQ. Rather than making a greeting card, I decided on these fans, that looked and felt like a card, with a practical element - keeping cool in the 100 degree heat!

Happy Father's Day
Well, for someone who is always running late, I actually finished my dad's Father's Day card earlier this week! Now, what to get the man who has everything???
I love this new Life is a Beach cartridge, and I was so excited when I found out last Saturday that they finally created an update for the Design Studio software so I could do a shape card with it. I hope my dad likes it too!

Belated Birthday
This is a card I made for my brother's birthday that I missed. Well, I didn't so much miss his birthday, as I just didn't get a card made and sent off. Always late...that's me!
Also, I received my first PaperTrey Ink order yesterday, and this Kraft cardstock and Happy Belated Birthday stamp just happen to part of the order!!

This past weekend, Christy and Kennedy came to town for a quick visit while Fred was stuck in Vail, CO. The paparazzi came out, and I managed to get a couple very cute shots of this girl who is getting so big, so fast. This one is my favorite!
As she's learning to walk (right before our eyes), she is also developing quite a little personality. She has learned to 'appreciate' herself and when she does something she knows is worthy of applause - she claps for herself. What a little sweetheart!!
A girly-girl already...one of her favorite things is her phone!!

Happy Birthday Jodi
Tomorrow is my friend Jodi's birthday. Last night we had a bit a celebration over at the Butler's, including a tasty BBQ with all the sides, and birthday cake for dessert. We also had a bit of a planning meeting to try to get the details of the upcoming camping trip to La Wis Wis all lined out. I love summer!!

Oldies But Goodies...
I was going through my digital photos, sending a few off for developing and I ran across these pics of some cards I made back when I was first learning the in's and out's of my Cricut. They are kind of basic, but cute none the less...not sure why I never posted these??

Happy Birthday Shauna
Friday was my friend (and co-worker) Shauna's 40th Birthday. I think she had a pretty good day...however, for those of us who helped her celebrate, it may be another story. On the way to Cedars for celebratory Rum Barrels, two individuals in our party *who shall remain nameless* were pulled over and ticked for speeding as part of what I'm sure was dubbed the 'Clover Island Sting Operation'!! Yikes!! All in all, we were able to put the bad vibes aside and still have a pretty good night, with lots of snacking, chatting and tons of laughing!!

Genuine Classic
Today is my dad's birthday, although he's been working so hard, I'm sure he doesn't really even realize it! Poor bugger is working all night, sleeping all day, then getting up and doing it all over again.
This is the card I made for him last night. I hope he doesn't think I'm calling him 'old' by calling him a classic. I purchased a couple tee shirts for him for his special day, and one of them had classic cars on it...so I just kind of went with that theme. When he looks at it this afternoon through tired, groggy eyes, I hope he likes it!
Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Traci
Another May birthday! This time it's Traci...my friend, my boss' wife, but most importantly, my hairstylist extraordinaire. Her birthday was actually Sunday, but she was out of town for a long weekend...so does that mean I'm not really late??
It's a simple card, but fun and festive. I was able to use my new circle and scallop punches I purchased this past weekend at the Craft Warehouse sale. Turns out the circle size is perfect for the small Cuttlebug folders!

Best Fishes
May seems to bring quite a few birthdays. Today one of my co-workers, John, celebrated his birthday. He's a fishin' sort of fella, so I thought this would work for him. This wasn't at all what I had pictured in my head when I started, but in the end, I was pretty happy with how it turned out. The greeting inside says 'Best Fishes'.

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers out there. I spent a good part of today with my mom, celebrating her mom-hood :) First we got ourselves pedicures, then went out to lunch. In between we were able to grab just a couple minutes to stop by and visit my Granny and wish her a Happy Mother's Day too.
Here are the cards I made for Mom and Granny. I thought they turned out pretty well for my first Z-Fold cards. I think I like the looks of these...they might just be my new 'card of choice'!
This card was inspired by one of DeeDee's cards she did for the BBTB challenge last week. You can check her's out here... http://deedeecampbell.blogspot.com/2009/05/mom-bbtb-challenge.html

Beautiful Brittany
Last night was Brittany's prom. Billie, Kim and I - along with many others - went over to her house to take pictures like paparazzi. We were all so proud of our girl; so proud of the beautiful young woman she has grown into - both inside and out. She and her date, and their friends all looked smashing. I was so excited for her while we were all snapping away at the hair, the dress, the shoes... But now that its over and I look at all the photos, I'm a bit overcome with melancholy as I realize that the little girl with ribbons in her hair is a thing of the past...she is in fact, all grown up now.

Catch Up
It's been over a week now that my computer has been on the fritz...no internet for me. Now, I'm playing catch up from the last couple days - which really isn't unlike me, with or without computer troubles.
This past weekend, Billie, Mom and I went out to Grover's Fruit - a local family owned farm. It seems they have an annual flower sale, which is quite an event. This was the first we had heard of it...guess we've been living under rocks. Anyway, they sell big, beautiful hanging baskets, bursting full of gorgeous flowers in luscious colors. I really had no interest in buying, and was just along for the ride...however, I ended up with two baskets myself. I was so impressed with this well-oiled machine, and the quality of flowers, you just couldn't pass it up. Even the miserably drizzly weather couldn't keep people down. In the end, we each took away two baskets, and this is what the car looked liked once we loaded them all up (not to mention how it felt like a sauna).
After lunch at Red Lobster, because it was National Scrapbook Day, Mom and Billie were really good sports and went with me to Scrap Happens, so I could do a little shopping. I ended up with two new 2009 Spring Release My Minds Eye Paper Packs, the Pretty Please and the Andrea Victoria. I can't wait to get started on a project with these great new papers!

One In A Melon
This is a card I made last night for my co-worker April, whose birthday is today. She's a bit of a crazy girl, or as she says, 'a hoot', so I wanted to let her know she really is one of a kind.

Spring Cupcakes
We had our first BBQ of the season over at the Butler's on Saturday. Jodi did up some tasty ribs, Kim put together some kabobs, then everyone else filled in the rest with salads, slaw, beans and corn bread.
The last time I was in Barnes and Noble, I picked up this great cookbook, Crazy About Cupcakes ('cause if you know me, you know I am!). I had only tried one recipe so far (banana cupcakes, which were de-lish), and I was itching to give something else a try.
So, for the BBQ I made these lemon cupcakes, with a fresh strawberry cream cheese frosting. As it turned out, I really liked the frosting, but not all that much on the lemon cupcakes. I will say, using the frosting as a fruit dip with the remaining strawberries did turn out later to be a big winner though!

Miss Kennedy
Fred and Christy had a concert in Spokane this last weekend, so on their way, they dropped off Kennedy and Truman at Auntie Billie's house. Billie brought her over to Mom and Dad's for dinner on Friday night and I was able to get a couple cute shots of that sweet pea! She's such a good girl, I could just eat her up!

Happy Administrative Professional's Day!
Happy Day to all of you Administrative Professionals out there!
So in our office now there are eight of us Administrative Professional types. Although none of them work for me, I wanted to show my appreciation of them, and let them know how much I enjoy working with them.
First I made each one of them a 3x3 card. Then I made little cupcake boxes, each one decorated slightly different. I filled them with a notepad/pen set with their initial, a cupcake magnet, a pack of decorative alligator clips (all from Micheal's dollar bins!), and their little card.
It was a lot of work, but I had so much fun making these. I hope they liked them! :)
