Happy Birthday Granny!
Today is a day to be celebrated, not only because it's Veteran's Day (THANK YOU to all who have and are currently serving), but it is also my Granny's 83rd birthday! Here is a simple card I made for her. Used: Cuttlebug - Swiss Dots Folder, Cricut - Starburst (Graphically Speaking) and Circle (Doodlecharms). Cake stamp is Studio G.

Thanks Granny!
My Granny helped pay for a fence at Mom and Dad's new house. When asked, she said she did it so Baylee wouldn't have to be on a leash, tied to a stick in the yard, and could run and play. So Baylee made Granny this little thank you card. Used Doodlecharms for the puppy, Opposites Attrack for the ALPO letters, and made the bones in DS. The inside sentiment says:
In the yard I like to run and play,
But without a fence I run away.
Some big green money you did pay,
So a beagle's thanks I must say.
Now I have a fence, hip, hip, hooray!
I'll be thankful to you every day.

Happy Birthday Olivia!
Our little Olivia is not so little any more. She's a big 6 year old now, going to school even...I can hardly belive it. This is the card I made for her birthday. It was picked for the October 20 edition of the Cricut Chirp.
Used DS to make the circle shape card. Doodlecharms for the circles, Alphalicious for the number 6. The soccer ball is a Stickopotamus sticker.

Whew...what a weekend. With a little touch-up here and there, and a lot of clean-up, my house should be back together, and feeling much warmer and cozier with the added color!
Happy Fall Y'all!
Here he is...Farmer Jay haulin' up his load of pumpkins. I think it was 23 in all this season. Mom, Billie and I each took home our favorite pick! This was at the end of a great weekend over in Seattle, seeing Phantom of the Opera at the Paramount, Shopping at Ikea, and not to mention great hospitality at the JK Ranch. Thanks Jay and Kathy!!

Happy Birthday to Me!
So yesterday, my friend Katie brought me yet another birthday gift. I'm thinking this must bring to a close what has been a most fabulous birthday. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful group of friends and a great family who have all made me feel so special, celebrating my birthday with me for over a week. Every girl should have a multi-day birthday!!
I want to thank EVERYONE who helped me celebrate...first, my co-workers Shauna Nicole, Stacy and Billie for the cards, balloons, gifts and cakes (yes, that's cakes with an 's'), Darcie for the gift card and Janice for the lotion; secondly, my family, Mom and Dad (and Baylee too) for the delicious birthday dinner and my favorite - Mud Pie, as well as all the new clothes, Craig and Wendy for the gift card and Granny for the money (love my Cuttlebug!); my friends and family who sent cards and email wishes; Aunt Marlene, the Brady's, Jennifer, Teresa, Mel, Michelle and Kim.
And, lastly I would like to thank my girls, Kim and Billie, not just for the generous gifts they gave (you can now find me smelling divine while wearing my Obama/Biden '08 Tee - thanks Billie, and soon my living room will be painted - thanks Kimberlee), but more for a wonderfully long weekend at the beach. We had a such a good time, we mustn't wait 14 years to do it again!!
Thanks again to you all!!

Old Glory
For those unfamiliar with the details of Washington State, the Cascade Mountains are seemingly awash with a shade of purple... Dividing the west side of the state - as blue as the Pacific and the sky it reflects - from the smothering blanket of red in the east (I would be that blue dot in a sea of red!).
But yesterday, as we flew Old Glory in the blazin' sun at our fire department open house, I couldn't help but think that this is how it is supposed to be...Red, White AND Blue...together. Flying a flag that big, you just can't help but feel your pride and patriotism...I don't care who you are.

She has finally arrived!! Ms. Kennedy Grace Paden was born yesterday morning around 10:30, weighing in at 10.4 lbs, and measuring 21 1/2" long. Mommy and baby (and daddy too) are said to be doing well. Hopefully daddy will figure out that new camera soon and get us some good pics of the dark-haired princess. Can't wait to meet you Kennedy!

Whew....
What a crazy few days! First there was a fire to put out - literally. Last Sunday I headed to Tonasket for a team assignment. It was quite a drive, but a good assignment to 'shake out the cobwebs'. Then back to town on Thursday, just in time for the moving to begin. Mom and Dad's house is finally ready!! My tail is draggin' a bit after a weekend of unpacking. Follow the link on the right to the Picasa Photo Album to see a few pictures...and stay tuned...more to come!!

First Post
Here it is...day one, post one!
All my scrapbooking supplies are sitting over 'there', on the other side of the room, lurking, behind me. Evidentally my creative juices are not flowing much tonight, although I have a birthday card to finish...for a birthday TODAY.
Starting this blog seems like such a better idea though!
The photos are some of my favorite projects from this year...2008...a stellar year?
